- 2. Lake Hillier
It's completely PINK. It's located off the south coast of Western Australia. Its vibrant pink colour is permanent. The colour does not alter when the water is taken in a container. The pink colour is due to the presence of the organism Dunaliella Salina, the organism causes the salt content in the lake to create a RED DYE. The pink colour could also be due to red halophilic bacteria in the salt crusts. The lake is perfectly safe to swim in despite the high salt content.↚
